<description>What if sexuality was completly (okay even mostly) pre-determined by a gene?

Let me, for just a few moments, speak hypothetically about what could happen to the gay and lesbian population of the world if sexual oreintation is mostly predetermined by one single dna marker.

As the world continues to meet people who are gay or find out a loved family member is gay, people begin to accept people in the community as normal, gay human beings who deserve respect and are in more ways then one, just like them.

I am 29 years old but, to my knowledge, gay marriage or the idea thereof, was never talked about 20 years ago. Perhaps if it was discussed it was in a comical sense and no where near the level it is today.

Just take a look at where we are today: pride parades, great lesbians with their own talk shows, multiple gay or gay friendly radio stations (both FM and Internet), televison networks dedicated to homosexuality and the LGBT community, Gay Days at Disney, national beer brands that market to the gay community and change their logo in rainbow colors for the ocasion, all of that.. its quite amazing that there is so much awareness.. even to the point where its become political. Conseratives are rushing to have petitions signed to protect the idea of marriage and family values (their words, not mine!)

Because its now &quot;okay to be gay&quot; (be yourself, it should have always this way!) there will be less &quot;in the closet&quot; homosexuals (both male and female) that decide to tie the knot and get married.

But wait, what happens if there are no more closeted homosexuals reproducing!? What if homosexuality is indeed a gene that is either dormat or passive? What if...? And now, we are no longer reproducing? Where will the gay population be 1000 years from today? Does anyone know where I am going with this?

Does Darwin's Theory come in to play?

Hmmm, I think its time we think about our survival and borrow moms turkey baster. (Just be sure to say ya lost it and NOT return it LOL)

Just my thoughts.
