Meet the President and CEO of the GLBT Radio Network "Devan" Christopher Leonard.

The Summer 2007 Series on G.I.R.L. begins Monday June 11 at midnight.  I'd like to thank each and every one of you for making GayInternetRadioLive.com the most listened to and talked about gay and lesbian radio station in America.  You may have notice we've already begun calling the station "America's Dance Channel".  It's because of you that we have grown to be just that, America's favorite place to soak up the circuit vibe right from your desktop or mobile smart phone.  Cruise through the site and check out all the new features and DJ profiles.  I hope you enjoy the new sound and as always, call us anytime with your feedback.  Here's a quick bio about yours truly...enjoy....

Radio has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would sit in my bedroom and pretend I was a disc jockey, news anchor, and of course a weatherman! Back then I was playing 45s on my Mickey Mouse record player and using a hairbrush as my microphone. I'm all grown-up now and radio
is still very much a part of my life!

My Name is Christopher Leonard. I've worked in professional broadcasting for
over 20 years and presently work full-time as Vice President of Broadcast Operations for
Westwood One/Metro Networks. Westwood One is the leading content provider
of localized and format specific content in the world to terrestrial radio stations.
I'm one of the lucky ones you might say. My dream of working in radio became
a reality in the late 1980s. I've had the distinct pleasure of broadcasting on
some of the nation's best radio and television stations in the country during my
15 years with Westwood One.

As my career developed from being an on-air talent into my current role as VP
overseeing broadcast operations in eight cities throughout the Southeast United
States. In 1995 I left the microphone to pursue the business side of the
broadcast industry but my passion for broadcasting and being on-air always
remained. In 1997, I began developing Internet radio stations as a hobby.
I distinctly remember the day I put my first Internet radio station online.
Live365.com was then a free service to Internet broadcasters and I was one of
the founding broadcasters on the service as “SFB Radio”. SFB (South Florida
Boys) was online for a few years and quickly became popular as web surfers
discovered Internet radio as an alternative to traditional media. Being a “gay”
station made the discovery of Internet radio even more exciting to our listeners.
It was the popularity of my shows that drove me to research Internet radio and
where it was headed. Perhaps I was onto something. Indeed I was!
In October 2004, I purchased the domain GayInternetRadioLive.com and began
planning the launch of the website you see today. “GIRL” became more than a
hobby in April 2005 when the official launch of “Your Soundtrack While You Surf”
hit the Internet full steam ahead.

In my opinion, Internet radio is the future of radio as we know it. Research has
shown this and the predictions of where Internet radio is headed are very
exciting! Because of our goal to service the LGBT community exclusively, Gay
Internet Radio Live and our network of GLBT radio stations serves a dual
purpose for both advertisers and listeners alike.
I invite you to sample all of our stations and see what everyone is talking about!

All the best,
“Devan”
