Do you believe in Santa Claus? What if a man claims he is Kris Kringle? What proof could he possibly provide that would have us believe him? Miracle on 34th Street poses all of these questions and seems as relevant today as it did in 1947 when it was released. Some believe that good parenting involves truth telling at all costs. That is the case in Miracle where Macy’s executive Doris Walker has brought her young daughter up to believe that there is no such thing as Santa Claus. It is not difficult to understand how a hard working single mother in the midst of the commercialized retail world might be cynical, especially around the holidays. But children have imaginations to feed. Fantasy is a healthy part of child development. A very special old man knows this well and takes on the task of restoring a little magic and faith in the lives of Doris and her daughter. Winner of 3 Academy Awards, including the only Oscar ever awarded to an actor portraying Santa Claus. As always, Movies On The Fox are presented free of charge. Bring your own chairs or blankets and join us in the parking lot behind the Fox Fullerton Theatre located on the corner of Chapman Avenue and Harbor Boulevard in downtown Fullerton.
