Los Angeles, California — January 4, 2008 — Alluvial Filmworks will release the third and fourth installments of Bump!, the world’s first and most watched gay and lesbian travel television series, on DVD January 15, 2008 featuring the American Northeast and Southern California. Over 14% of gays and lesbians are planning a trip oversees in the next year according to a 2006 Witeck-Combs Communication survey. With the continuing release of Bump! on DVD, there is a convenient guide to serve the established gay and lesbian travel market. Gay and lesbian travelers also account for an estimated $54 billion in the travel industry (The Associated Press, 2007) and the Bump! DVD series has become the travel authority for this community by specifically addressing their tastes, interests, and history in an entertaining and informative format.

Bump! became an international hit on DVD in December 2007 with the first two releases featuring Mexico and Great Britain. With 16 DVD titles releasing just in 2008, the gay community will take a complete trip around the world in just one year. They’ll learn about popular gay destinations as Bump! highlights the culture, common tourist spots, gay history, food, prides, bars, and nightlife in every city. Complete with interviews and tours from well-known gays and lesbians from around the world like Graham Norton, lyricist Allan Rich, and Queer as Folk stars Sharon Gless and Jack Weatherall, no other series of this caliber has existed for the gay and lesbian traveler. The Bump! DVD series not only serves international gay and lesbian traveler, but it also serves as a great resource for those local travelers wanting to learn more about their own region.

With the latest releases, Famed lesbian playwright Shannon McDonough serves as a personal tour guide as she to takes viewers through the northeast and then on an indulgent fun-in–the-sun tour of South California where J.R. Anderson, the resident party boy, joins her. Featuring some of the most popular and well-known cities in the world, the American Northeast and Southern California releases will enviably become two of the most important parts of the Bump! DVD collection that conveniently gives gay and lesbian travelers the tips and ideas for their next vacation.

The Northeast adventure begins in New York City, the Emerald City for gays and lesbians from all around the world. Shannon takes viewers on a classic expedition through New York with very gay twist when she starts in the world-famous Central Park.  Shannon continues with a lesbian brunch, Sex and the City-themed tour of shopping, eating and drinking as well as a personal look into the headquarters of 2(x)ist underwear. The New York tour then ends with the energy of Times Square.

In the next stop, Philadelphia, Shannon shows viewers how to be the ultimate gay tourist covering historical sites, tempting viewers as she buys a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, shopping at Reading Terminal Mall, visiting a gay-owned hotel and visiting the largest gayest fitness complex.

In the concluding Northeast city, Shannon travels to the U.S. capital Washington, D.C. touring the gay neighborhoods of gay Dupont Point and the lesbian favorite Capital Hill district. The whirlwind visit looks at restaurants, clubs, the famous GLBT charity Cherry Party and the Mid-Atlantic Leather weekend. The American Northeast edition of Bump! on DVD is a tempting tour that will have a gay traveler ready to pack their bags to learn, shop and go.

In the Southern California sun, Bump! host J.R. takes viewers to Los Angeles to meet successful gays in Hollywood like openly gay director Todd Holland (Malcolm in the Middle), gay comedian and author Bob Smith, lyrist Allan Rich and porn star Ken Ryker. It also includes a trip through the gay city and well-known gay playground of West Hollywood where viewers meet the beauties of L.A. nightlife.

The next tour spot is San Diego, where Shannon learns about a truly active gay community with a long history of gay pride, visits the local Gay Rodeo and shoots the pike with an all girl-surf team. The excursion through the city of San Diego includes blue skies, beaches and local hot spots.

Then the audience discovers why Palm Springs, considered the gay-friendliest city in North America with 43 percent being gay and lesbian, is synonymous with glamour and sophistication. Like no other gay adventure, we see the sunset from a hot air balloon, learn about gay icons, visit the decadent estate of Liberace and take a tour of lavish and stylish lodging. This Bump! DVD will have viewers hitting their local gym to get ready for a visit to the always sunny and sensational Southern California.

The suggested retail price of each Bump! DVD is $19.98 and the running time is 72 minutes. Bump!
