DJ Joshua Bula is the resident DJ for the Friday Foreplay at Club Rayn in Tallahassee, Fl and Splash Bar Florida in Panama City Beach, Fl. He has been a club DJ since 1998, when he started spinning at Wild Angels (Formerly Melody Club), and then eventually at the University Club in Gainesville, Fl. Upon moving to Tampa for grad school, he played at Brandon City Limits, Night Moves, and Metropolis, and occassionally did one-night-fill-ins at various other places around Tampa Bay area and Orlando. In 2006 his career brought him to Tallahassee, Fl where he became a resident DJ at Splash Bar Florida and recently at Club Rayn. He has been a musician since elmentary school and a drummer and percussionist snce 6th grade. He has music degrees from Florida State University and the University of South Florida, and still plays some classical percussion.
I would say you were my #2 today thus far. It's dangerous to post these comments as the day rolls on because things could change with the next DJ. There are three DJ's in the competition I favor and you're one of them.

Pretty solid set man! Enjoyed the energy and the flow was consistent. Lots of great tracks and smooth transitions. Good job! Looking forward to your next set to hear more.
Written in Real Time: Kinda ruthless to start that solid, but I'll take it! You start a set getting me to dance that hard and you set the bar pretty high. Can you keep me up for a whole hour? Flawless transition into the second song. The third song had me doing the running man but then the key changed and lost me for a minute, but you brought it back (12 minutes in). Feedback got me groovin' again (Britney still thinks it's called "Feedbag" that's why she likes it...with a Fanta.) Your transition out of Feedback had a really cool dip just before the vocals started, I liked it. You have some pretty masterful transitions, but your set isn't saying much to me...I'm bopping but not very enthusiastically. (35 minutes in). Pretty solid finish to your set. Overall: A collection of good songs, really good mixes, great transitions, not a lot of substance. It's a great workout tape, fun to dance to. You're solid, technically strong, hi energy, you would have kept me on the dancefloor, but I would have needed some stimulus to keep me excited about it. I like all your song choices, please don't get me wrong, I just don't get any sense of why they're all here together. A technically, C for in-cohesiveness Grade: B

Simply AMAZING set! Best I've heard all day (so far). The energy is perfect, not to hard or too tribal. You brought me into a t-dance, pool party mood effortlessly. I love the way you blended your music. I heard mixes that I suspect were your own creation and remix versions. Great job!
Congrats on making it in to the Top 8, Josh! I know you'll make it to #1... You're the best.

Yeah, last week I was later in the competition so the higher BPM worked... when I recorded this set, if would have known I was so early this week I would have slowed it down a little. Wiggy... I was also kind-of unsure about the Jipsta as well... the club I work at has a few fans of Rap and Hip-Hop even though its a gay club, so I just tried to mix it up a little. It is kind of a "gay" remix of it, so I think it works well. Thank you for all your feedback and constructive criticism.

Yes the BPM was a little high and I liked it except during "Gorgeous" her vocals sounded too fast? But besides that and besides that awful Jipsta rap song it was a GREAT set with GREAT songs and mixing!

Too much pills and liquer, indeed. Best remix of Alicia I've heard. Smart set although energy doesn't just come from a fast BPM. Be careful of coming across too frantic. You have some broadcast sensibility that works well in radio. Good luck.

I've been able to catch DJ Joshua Bula all over northwest Florida. You know if Josh is spinning, it's going to be a FUN night of dancing. His sets demand that you dance...it's impossible to sit still during them. I've downloaded numerous albums that he's made and they are all in HEAVY rotation in my iPod. He is absolutely the BEST DJ I've ever had the privilege of meeting.

First of all I'm a total fanatic for Lewis Black. I've loved Heather Small ever since her days with M People (yep - I'm an early 90's DJ from Backstreets and The Cove in Atlanta). Every song was a perfect choice, stylistically and harmonically. By the time you got to the U2 tribal mix I was ecstatic. Phenomenal, amazing set. You are absolutely right on target for this contest and a GayDays Pool party. Your mixes were tight and the production top notch. Blew me the fuck away.

I have not missed a date that Dj Joshua has played in Panama City beach since we were fortunate enough to find him spinning in a local club...he always has the hits before the other clubs and offers a different edge to the music scene here locally...have all of his Cd's and am grateful to have met him several times, always polite and has great suggestions for my listening pleasure....all and all a cool cat!

I have multiple CD's that I listen to on a regular basis from DJ Josh. Recently wanted to have him DJ my New Year's Eve party but he was already booked!
Always have loved going to an event that has DJ Josh spinning!
I've been listening to DJ Josh Bula for the past 2 years. The guy is absolutely amazing. His sets have an amazing flow from start to finish and I'm always amazed at how fresh his music is. You're always guaranteed to hear the latest and greatest sound with Josh. Keep up the great work!
