Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest GLBT civil rights organization, will celebrate community heroes to the theme “Thousands of Heroes, One Super Night” at the 15th annual Los Angeles Human Rights Campaign Gala Dinner on March 15 at the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

Among those HRC will recognize are BRAVO cable TV network, recipient of the Corporate Visibility Award; and culinary star Cora Cat of Iron Chef America, who will receive an HRC Hero Award. Other honorees include national GLBT scholarship fund, the Point Foundation; and Andrea Myerson, founder of lesbian social network Women on a Roll. Past honorees and speakers have included Barbra Streisand, Vice President Al Gore, Janet Jackson, Gov. Bill Richardson and Howard Dean.

“It will be a special, moving evening honoring heroes who make a difference in the lives of GLBT people in Southern California and everywhere,” said Kelsey Bray, co-chair of the event. “This is our chance to celebrate our accomplishments and show our appreciation for these organizations and individuals.”

The gala is one of the largest gay fundraising events in Southern California, with more than 1,000 guests attending in past years, including national GLBT leaders in entertainment, community service, business and politics.

“Especially in an election year, attending the gala is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and unite in our strength,” said event co-chair Parker Williams.

Sponsors for the event include premiere sponsor Lexus/ Lexus Financial Services, foundation sponsor Wells Fargo Foundation; benefactor sponsors Bruce Bastian and Stiletto Entertainment; and supporting sponsors Betsy Billard Private Wealth Advisor, Ameriprise Financial, City National Bank, Deloitte, Harrah's, Health Net, Paul Hastings, Raytheon and Troika. For more information on becoming a sponsor or table host, or to purchase tickets, go to www.hrcladinner.com or call Robin Winston at Levy, Pazanti & Associates, at 310-201-5033, x 107.

The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against GLBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
