As part of a groundbreaking new pact, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has joined forces with The International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA), becoming the first lodging company to partner with the association on a property-wide level.
In accordance with the terms of the new partnership, each of Kimpton’s 41 distinct hotels is a member of the association, positioning Kimpton as the leading hospitality company and first choice for gay and lesbian travelers.
“We are proud to be the first hospitality company to have all of our hotels members of IGLTA,” said Kimpton's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Steve Pinetti. “We appreciate the support this very loyal group of guests brings to Kimpton. By partnering with IGLTA we hope to further demonstrate our commitment to the community and show more people why Kimpton hotels are so special.”
Kimpton was also the first lodging company to score 100% on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index in 2004 and has maintained that perfect score every year since then. The hotel company also participates in social responsibility initiatives year round which resonate within the LGBT community including an annual Red Ribbon campaign to benefit local HIV/AIDS organizations.
“We are extremely excited to have such a longstanding friend to the LGBT community be the first lodging company to join on this level,” commented John Tanzella, Executive Director of IGLTA.
