This is a very important hearing today and the continuation of many before. In order for GLBT Radio Network to be able to legally provide the music and entertainment you hear day in and day out we pay enourmous fees to ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, and SoundExchange. These companies are working very hard to drive smaller companies like ours out of business. Basically, they are trying to make webcaster's pay the same royalty rates as over the air stations. Only massive companies like Clear Channel, CBS, etc. will be able to remain in the marketplace of the Internet if this happens.

Even sites like Live365 and Pandora are extremely concerned because what these people are asking for will more than triple their (our) current rates and also include a "per spin" fee to play each song you hear.

Stay tuned.
