Tori Spelling Drops Out Of '90210' Spinoff Over Money Dispute
Despite widespread reports Tori Spelling would return to the role that made her famous in the CW’s re-imagining of Beverly Hills 90210, it appears Spelling has decided to drop out of the project... because she’s upset producers had planned to pay her less than her former co-stars.

When CW announced it was planning a spin-off of the Aaron Spelling prime time soap, it became clear they planned to write some of the original cast members back into the series.

First Jennie Garth signed on to reappear as Kelly Taylor, now a guidance counselor at Beverly Hills High. Shortly thereafter, Spelling was rumored to be re-appearing as Donna Martin.

Bloggers argued the real coup would be landing Shannon Doherty’s Brenda Walsh, and earlier this month, it was announced Doherty would be appearing on the show.

But according to reports, Garth and Doherty were offered between $35,000 and $50,000 per episode to reprise their roles, while Spelling was offered somewhere in the low teens.

According to E! Online, Spelling asked for a rate hike, a request the show’s producers denied. Spelling subsequently dropped out of the series.

Garth is scheduled to make an appearance in the series premiere. Doherty and Spelling are said to be popping up in recurring roles later in the season.
