Wells Fargo and NGLCC Recognize LGBT Businesses The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and Wells Fargo & Company recently announced that Witeck-Combs Communications has been named the NGLCC/Wells Fargo LGBT Business Owner of the Year Award winner for 2006.

Witeck-Combs Communications will be recognized at the 2006 NGLCC National Dinner, An Evening of Courage, on Nov. 17 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., and will receive a cash grant of $5,000. “The contribution Witeck-Combs Communications has made to the LGBT business community is immeasurable,” Justin G. Nelson, NGLCC co-founder and president, said in a release. “Their extensive studies and research have created the empirical foundation for the LGBT business movement,” added co-founder and CEO Chance Mitchell. Witeck-Combs Communications is one of the most respected resources for LGBT research, communication and strategy. The Washington, D.C.-based firm is being recognized for its entrepreneurial spirit as demonstrated by its business performance, innovation, growth and personal service to the community. “Witeck-Combs Communications demonstrates the commitment to excellence, innovation, and strong community focus that are all hallmarks of today’s U.S. small business owner,” Vincent Trombetta, senior vice president for Wells Fargo’s small business segment, said in a release. “We are pleased to join with the NGLCC in recognizing outstanding LGBT businesses.” NGLCC and Wells Fargo, both dedicated to supporting LGBT small business needs, began their alliance in 2005 with the first annual NGLCC/Wells Fargo LGBT Small Business Award.
